Afternoon Edition - 5/12/08

Trust In the Lord
I’m not a fanatical Christian, but I do believe in God. The son of a Pentecostal minister, I have faced many situations in my life that have proven God to be real and REAL important in my life. So, it should come as no surprise that when the issue of my moving to a larger house with BD and the Minnie came up, I put all of it in God’s able hands. My prayer was simple, “Lord, this seems perfect; a storybook relationship; a fairytale bond between BD, the Minnie and I; and a unanimous decision between us to live together. Let your will be done, so that what is BEST for me transpires.” Well, today, the strangest thing happened. I called my rental office – the last folks on my list to contact – to inquire what the details of my move meant to my lease arrangement, etc. Well, I was in for a BIG surprise. The entire scene could be checked for the Lord’s handprint, since it was so polite, swift, but to the point that there was no anger, resentment or bitterness of any kind with the parties involved. It turns out that since I signed my lease sometime in February, for the June 2008-June2009 season, I am bound by the agreement to stay in my place until June 2009. Breaking my lease – even while forewarning management - would mean losing my security deposit (a hefty bundle) and the risk of a suit by management to recoup the amount left to be paid on said lease. Well, my brothers and sisters – Brother Cocoa doesn’t quite have it like that. So, with heavy heart, I phoned my baby and we sat for lunch where I told him the details of the call with the building management folks. We both agreed that the impending move did not hold us together – our love does. We’re going to switch to Plan B. BD and the Minnie will stay with me often and we’ll proceed with getting to feel completely at ease with living together. All said, I trust in the Lord.

On Blast
It’s hard to say, Thank you Lord,” when you don’t feel that you got your way or what you wanted. That said, the beauty of trusting in the Lord is that you believe that he has done what is best for you – LONG TERM.

That said, have your plans been altered, where you later realized it was what was best for you in the long run?

Keep passin’ the open windows…

I believe that God ALWAYS answers prayers. They just may not be answered in the way that we want them to be answered!

Boy Cocoa it's funny how are lives really are paralleling. We may not be getting what we want but we are probably getting what we need. For me, a kick forward into the future. For you, the time to wait and grow your relationship even more with both the men in your life. One becomes so much more at easy with life when one has the right perspective....luv!!

The Lord always has His plan for us, whether we believe it or not. We all have times when we don't understand why things are happening the way they are. Many of us, particularly myself, try to "buck it" and make our own destinies. What He wants is what He will always get, LONG TERM. But remember that what He wants for us may not ever be written in stone.

Baby, I'm so haappy that you have come so far in this.

It is well, It is well, with my soul! I've learned to go with the flow and roll with the punches! I simply cannot function without trying to be happy in all things!

I planned on being a military brat. I pushed and pushed for my paperwork to go through. There were stumbling blocks. DAMN I pushed the more and family was confronting me like why are you doing this. I replied this is what I want. I eventually got the go ahead and was allowed to enlist. I finished the paperwork and was about to sign my life away. My hand couldn't sign mi name. I froze and it was like a spiritual epiphany. I finally realized it wasn't for me. it sucked that I wasted so much time and I pissed off the recruiters but that is how it happened.

Child yes, my plans were changed.

I had my heard set on someone tall, dark, and handsome. The Lawd knew that's what I wanted. I owed this young frumpy boy a favor and we went out on prom together. Two Crown Royals later, I was pregnant with twins and didn't know it. Me and LB been together every since. I didn't understand it back then, but the Lawd has definitely shown me the way.

I repays God by dipping out every once in a while. I know a few freaky-deaky deacons who knows how to put it down. So, I thanks the Lawd and keeps it moving...hallelujar!

With Love,
Mrs. Mabel

Now Mabel you know dem twins don't look nothing like LB! If my memory serves me correct you and the DJ at the prom disappeared for a few minutes. I sho wish they had Maury back then yo lying big tail would have been waddling all on the floor talking bout "I thought he was my babies daddy!"

Anyway, Cocoa yes I have had some plans rearranged by God before. I planned on marrying LB til my fat ass best friend Mabel stole him from me. I shoulda been the one pinning them twins on him!
Take care now

Even though things didn't work out the way that you may have wanted them, it is nice to know that it doesn't really put a dent in your relationship. God is good.
