Morning Edition - 7/17/08

Life As I Know It
Looking back over the last year I can appreciate the many changes that have brought me to who I am today and how I’m living today. While I’d love more time and energy to post to my blog – my journal of sorts – I just don’t have the wherewithal to live my life and journal about it. There are evenings that I have just a few moments to read my favorite blogs – even if I can’t comment on them. The office has been an absolute madhouse and there’s a part of me that feels a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment to be the go-to guy on a plethora of projects. Oddly, the five weeks spent nursing a fractured rib forced me to focus on all things work. My usual lunchtime jaunts to the gym were cut out and returning last Monday to the treadmills and toning, only proved that five weeks away from all things physical can feel like a lifetime. With less than one month until my Caribbean cruise, I have some tightening to do. The good thing is that I’m less hard on myself with regard to my body. Coupled with the fact that I haven’t gained much weight during my down time, this back-to-the-future body reshaping may not be so bad. As for BD and I, I’m so satisfied – physically, emotionally and mentally – that I can only think that being still and communicating what your needs are will sometimes pay off. Today, BD and I are best friends, passionate lovers and fun-loving parents. During my parents two-week stay, my mom and I were able to honestly speak about BD and the Minnie and what I wanted for our future. Although my parent’s religious beliefs don’t allow them to cosign on our union, they are supportive and caring. In the coming weeks, I’m going to really try to post – I have plenty to say – and I’m definitely reading my blog family’s postings often. It’s shaping up to be a great summer and I hope everyone is taking the season and life by the horns. Ultimately, life as I know it is what I’ve made of it.

On Blast
What goal can you honestly say you’ll reach by summer’s end?

Keep passin’ the open window…

Oh geez - um, my life is always soooo full of goals. I'm taking easy for the summer. I didn't enroll in school for the summer (which is a rarity) and I'm doing things I've never done in Chicago.

But, August 25th brings and end to it all as I go back to classes 4 nights a week, endless studying, and paper-writing. YAY!

But good for you living and enjoying life!

I like reading your blog, so whenever I do decided to have a family, I have a model in mind per se... Funny how when me and Fuzzy was walking to the car with Chilli on leash, I thought to myself, aww it feels like we are a family!

Visit my nieces and nephew in PA. They keep asking me when I'm coming to their house, and I feel kinda guilty that I haven't visited them yet. (They moved to PA about a year ago.)

A job! lol I really would like to have 2 jobs set in place so I can receive fewer phone calls from bill collectors and I don't have to be afraid of answering my phone!

I am glad that you and the minnie and BD are coming along just well! I would like to say this one thing and I am sure that you are aware of it, life had a habit of moving swiftly. I notice it more and more that days and weeks go by more quickly as they pass on. Just make sure that you keep embracing life in the fullest as it seems you are doing!

Well, I can see who reads your blog as religiously as I do from some of the postings : ). My boo hurt himself trying to Agassi at the handball courts!!! I am glad you are feeling better...and now you know why I am slightly insane...children have that affect on parents : )

Goals:
1) Register for classes at CUNY
2) Do six miles in 30 mins as opposed to 3 miles in 15 mins on the elliptical machine in addition to the 3 miles on the treadmill 5 days a week. Push myself harder with the weights also (Eye of the Tiger! Eye of the Tiger!)
3) Eliminate all processed sugars/food and red meat from my diet.
4) Be kinder and gentler with ignoramuses who don't know better.

I have much to be thankful for and so many people places and things in my life that bring me joy. My cup defintely runneth over.

Talking about putting something on blast! lol

How dare you force me to think! lol

I guess I can say

1. Finish another semester with nothing less than a B in all my classes.
2. Successfully take the LSAT and finally begin my admission process for law school.

Yeah...

Hey Cocoa,

I feel the same way lately. If it not the job, at home remodeling, family time-outs, and friends. It is hard to catch up on my blog crew to see how things are going on in their life. 24 hours in a day is not enough. May your rib be on the minding list. I am happy to hear that everything else is working out beautifully. Continue to enjoy life and love. I am also.

I will text you later on this week.

im out.
