Rosacea?!?!!

Rosacea?!
It’s almost unthinkable to suffer from bad skin late in life. Throughout my teens and twenties I enjoyed fairly clear skin. In the last 2-3 months I noticed I began suffering –from what appeared to be- acne. I tried everything and noticed my face, like my self esteem, was deteriorating. Frustrated and unable to cope with what it was doing to my appearance and my self-confidence I marched to a dermatologist today. After stripping nude and wearing the paper-exposed-booty number they force on folks – I really didn’t expect this at the dermatologist – the doctor (with a trusted resident in tow) went over my face and body with a fine tooth comb. The exam was so thorough that I wasn’t sure if he’d differentiate the redness of humiliation from what was causing this disfiguring condition. Finally, after the bright lights were turned off and the magnifying lenses were removed he announced his diagnosis – Rosacea. Since the condition primarily afflicts Caucasians and women, I was shocked. “You must be mistaken, “I protested. He discussed how he came to his conclusion with his resident, taking care to tell her why he ruled out all other causes for my condition. He asked if my parents suffered from any skin disorders, since Rosacea is also known to be hereditary. All said, I’m relieved to finally figure out what was causing my discomfort and affecting my appearance. I should be all clear in 4-6 weeks, but the good doc cautioned that Rosacea is not curable – only treatable – and I will probably use a gel once a day to keep my face clear. Who knew?

Joe Six Pack
As I was leaving the doctor’s office today I thought about all the cock-and-bull the McCain/Palin ticket has spewed about their ticket having the Washington-outsider interests at hand; basically their rhetoric says that putting McCain/Palin in the White House would guarantee Joe Six Pack was running the country. Here’s the thing though…I don’t think I want Joe Six Pack at the helm of our fair country. I mean, think about it. When I go to the doctor, I want him/her to be qualified to treat me – not be like me. So before you choose your next leader think about whether you want Joe Six Pack to get our country back on track or an experienced, qualified and diverse ticket that has the years at the helm, connections and vision to restore America’s glory. Sorry Joe…just grab me a beer.

On Blast
Do you believe you settled on your choice for President because of their qualifications or because you saw yourself in the ticket?

Keep passin’ the open windows…

Sorry to hear about your Rosacea. I am not sure what it is exactly so I am gonna have to look up more information on it.

As for the country. I have thought about this as well. Obama being black has little do with my vote. I agree, I do not want a good ole boy running the country. I want someone who is educated, thoughtful, and has the good sense. Something it seems is in short supply on the Republican side of the aisle of late.

I've never wavered on my Presidential selection, however, it was solidly solidified when Palin was chosen. Of ALL of the other Repubs, he couldn't have chosen someone more qualified? If you ask me, McCain doesn't really wanna be President.

Sorry about the Rosacea, but I wanted to see pictures. Can't help it. I'm a visual person.

Thanks for show that clip, it was great and I had not seen it. I have made up in my mind that Palin could careless if her and McCain make it to the white house. She is making a hell of a name for herself, good, bad or indifferent, she is paving a road for her next political move. You can believe that whatever happens with the election, the next time Sarah Palin's name comes up no one will be saying, "who's she?"

I am voting for Obama, not because he looks like me, but because he is the democratic nominee and I always vote a straight ticket, unless someone says something to pull me to their side. That being said, I have been listen to the the debates and the issues and I really like Obama's position on Health Care. That is the one issue that really matters to me, so he gets my vote on it.

Good thing u saw a doctor - get that face in order!

Um, for the president - it's a bit of both - I think my candidate is experienced and I see much of myself in him. Go McCain!

just kidding.

Darius, you threw me a minute there.

It's funny how now all the McCain-ites are slamming Obama with all kinds of scare tactics. Scary words like communist, socialist, etc., etc. It's really sad.

Thanks folks...D, stop being nasty, you know I take care of my face...shit, I'm 40, I have to!
It's actually much worse mentally than it is physically. Most folks mention that it was so minor they didn't notice. One Man, you just love to see, huh??? LOL...I'll have my man take pics soon.

I believe Colin Powell nailed it when he said everyone on the Republican side was saying Obama is an undercover Muslim, and although McCain is doing nothing to stop the Republican party from spreading rumors and innuendo, Powell said SO WHAT IF HE IS A MUSLIM!!!! Since when is it illegal in this country to be a Muslim? Our government has done such a terrific job of demonizing Muslims that everyone thinks having a Muslim president is a horrific notion. Muslims are people, just like Christians, Jews, Buddhists, and Hindu. Although Obabma is a Christian, the Republican machine - with all of their fear mongering and hateful rheotoric - has done such a great job of slandering the Muslim community, in their sick twisted mentality they think by convincing the sheep-like morons of this nation that Obama is a Muslim, theMcCain/Republican ticket will win the election.

The Republicans made an ass of Colin Powell. They made him get up in front of this country and say there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Can you imagine how he must feel as a man, as a soldier, to have been betrayed by the Commander in Chief?
All of this so Haliburton and the Carlyle group will keep that money in the family?

If you watched his interview Sunday night, when he endorsed President Barack Obama, while he was speaking I could hear his voice trembling...I still dont know if it was trembling from anger or remorse. Whatever the case may be, he set our asses straight on what is really going down over in Iraq and why he decided to endorse President Barack Obama.

If you haven't seen the interview, please take a look.

Palin was just on tv talking smack AGAIN about Obama meeting with our enemies. I had to laugh. I believe Obama said it best during the debate when McCain brought up the same issue. Obama said "I am the President of the United States of America - I will meet with WHOMEVER I choose."

Thats the kind of guy I want on MY TEAM.

Peace.

PREACH ON! @ caspar!

There's so much going on that it's hard for some people to tell what's right tho. I don't discuss my choice (because I'm REALLY a neutral member of the media), but I want to SO BAD!

As for the skin, if that's all you've got to worry about, you're doing damn well, no?

I'm voting for the ticket that speaks to my issues. Obama and Biden are more likely to address my issues than that other ticket.feetandtoe

Wow, you know what? All three things you talked about today made me think...

1) I am glad that you saw the dermatologist and that your skin condition is curable. When I was 13, these white spots just began appearing on the side of my face and traveled in a very patterned line down the side of my neck and spread on my chest. I FREAKED OUT!!!! My mom took me to the dermatologist and he prescribed me some pills and cream... it was gone in 4 weeks and I have never seen them again. Thank god for dermatologists!

2) Can Joe bring me back a beer as well?

3) I originally voted for Hillary Clinton in the primary election. In all honesty, there was a little piece of me that saw me in Barack Obama and there is still a little piece of that does, but come on, he is doing it right! John McCain keeps speaking about bi-partisanshitp, but Obama is LIVING it right now! His endorsements, choice of VP, education and resume show me that he is ready to leave the positive legacy that this country so desperately needs. I am participating in early voting later today. It's time to make history.
