I am glad she comes out and you make a good point. Straight folks can get married and divorced in 24 hours (remember Eddie Murphy's last marriage before this one ...? And Britney Spears..), but for some reason two same-gender loving people cannot.
It's wrong, but there are a LOT of people in this country that hate gay folks and giving them rights is not gonna happen without a fight. Literally.
Remember, black equal rights did not come without bloodsheed and many, many legal battles.
I think the same, unfortunately and regrettably, will happen with this movement.
