…But I’m Scared Of
The general consensus is that Cocoa fears nothing – not lions, not tigers…shoot, not even bears. The truth is that love and letting go scares me. After three years of having BD in my life, he still stirs the butterflies in my stomach and yet, we’ve maintained separate residences. Strange huh? I mean, we work together, play together and spend most of our waking moments together, but in the end, we’ve kept separate cribs. What is that about? The place we’ve been eyeing appears to have come through and come August, the shared nest may very well be our reality. I have to say that I’m scared. I’m not frightened of sharing my home with my man, but of the unknown. Will he still feel the same when he has me around 24/7. Yeah…it’s silly. …but I’m scared of…

Is sharing a crib the inevitable for loving partners?
Keep passin’ the open windows…

To answer your On Blast question: for some, no. for some, yes. Depends where the two are in their relationship. Just like an open relationship works for others (and you'll agree with me) it could NEVER work for either of us-LOL.
But living together for us, yes that's what I want. The 5 of us under one roof. That's what it’s all about. Sharing the every day with each other. The not-wanting-to-get-out-of bed mornings, the cranky blahs that everyone goes through, the sickness, the health, the good times and the bad. We both knew what we were getting into from the beginning and these past three years have led up to this.
This is most definitely not the end, but only the beginning. The beginning of something wonderful that lies ahead for us. Just know that I'm scared as well, but it's the kind of scared you experience just before something great happens.
This is like a season finale of your favorite show. Everything has led up to this very point. In the coming months of (ugh) packing and preparing, saving, planning, talking, scheduling, etc. will be the hiatus just before a new and exciting season starts.
Here's to the never-ending sit-com, that we call life. I love you.
I think the building of a common fortress against the hands of evil that try to break it down, is important for any super heroic team! LOL.
It is all your choice. I mean some like it apart, some like it together. It is all how you feel. If you are not ready and you are sczared then don't do it. There is something to be said about a break that happens when you live in anothers or share a living space. It usually get even uglier. I should know.
Every relationship is different...what works for some may not work for others. I don't think lovers eventually have to live together...personally I would want to eventually move into a single residence with my partner. Luv!!!
JB
I think it sometimes does. It works for some, but for others it can be a bad move. Personally, I prefer to live with my partner and it has always worked out but there were some iffy times that had to be worked out. You learn alot about the man.......
There isn't a question in my mind that BD is the ONE...my fears are rooted in my own selfish thoughts...I look forward to having BD, the Minnie, Bust and Bruce all under one roof!
Hmm - I knew it was bound to happen. Hell, ya'll having grimy ass sex and bustin each other down when your parents are in town like some old married Puerto Rican couple eating arepas and arroz con pollo with tons of Sazon. I knew it was gonna happen...just don't let the dog and the Minnie see ya'll cuttin up!
I personally LOVE living with my lover. Of course I walk in from time to time and think "If I lived by myself the dishes would be done," but I really love the small moments like when we are at the grocery store and which ever is closest to the ATM pays for groceries--- I know that it is not him or me paying for groceries but both of us because it is coming out of a joint account.
Honestly, the hardest thing to do is mutually decorate, but even in that, just accept that you will win some and lose some. There is room for compromise.
Congratulations and good luck you guys.
I'll be damned if your feelings are silly......Hell, who is not scare of the unknown? I am feeling it with the idea of moving in with my family and I know what it's like to live with them already. LOL. I wish yall the best of luck.
August is a good month to make the move, because that's the month i was born in. LOL
Let that man move in and call it a day. You two have been thru everything else except this. Why not move in?
^I'm with Jonesey on this one!!
