Introducing Bruce!

Bruce joined the Cocoa clan with much fanfare. At 12 weeks, the 25 pound Weimaraner (pronounced Why-mah-ron-er) is a real beaut! He’s everything you can want in a new pup. He’s got a wonderful disposition, a playful freedom and the need to please. As anyone who has had a pup knows, the first few weeks are the hardest, since you spend the bulk of your waking moments teaching the dog to be housebroken – well, at least I know it’s MY biggest priority. Knock on wood... my baby is a fast learner and has not had even ONE poop accident indoors. Praise God! Busta is doing everything to adjust to his new little brother, but Bruce continually chooses Busta’s favorite toy – Winnie the Pooh. The fights have been loud yet controlled. Ultimately, I can see my boys will have a healthy resentment hinging on their desire to have my complete love and attention…nothing like feuding siblings to warm their dad’s heart...kidding! BD and the Minnie spent the weekend attempting to adjust to the new teething member of our family and did a great job. There will be more pics to follow, but these were taken in the clear foyer of my apartment…my attempt to create a small playpen area for my boys to get acquainted without changing my home’s décor. Sunday night, BD and I took a small break from the kids to have dinner with his great friend Maria. Needless to say, the very short nights have taken a huge toll on my appearance and my mood. I’m still ecstatic to have my baby on board.

On Blast
What do you do to try to catch-up on rest when you can only dedicate less than 5 hours to sleep per night?

Keep passin’ the open windows…

Congrats on the new family member. It looks like a pretty dog. I will have to post some pics of my boo's dogs soon.

I ditto Shawn, get some sleep but just for the record you don't look nowhere near as bad as you say on that pic (if that was your intention for posting it).

Hey Blaq...ain't that the truth...old bitches are always tryin' to use that number as an excuse for gettin' sassy! LOL

Ty - I posted it because you guys would've thought my Boricua drama was gettin' the best of me...but fo' real, I'm so tired my eyes are burnin' and the bags are just missin' the LV label! Yes please...post some pics!

[snickers @ how comfortable Cocoa looks on his knees in that first pic]

The dog looks great. Congrats on getting him. To your question, I'm with Shawn. When I need to catch up on rest, I find more time to rest.

Jonesy...I was born with built-in knee pads...Yeah, I've got to juggle this schedule around to guarantee myself 7 hours sleep!

Sorry about yesterday.
I get to the parking lot, my car battery was DEAD and to add insult to injury, I dropped my cell phone in the movie theatre and the damn manager didnt want to let me into the theatre to find it while the movie was going on...by the time I got my cell phone the battery was too low for radio use and I had to ask Target to call Geico for me because nobody wanted to give us a damn jump.

So, as you can tell, I was in no mood when I came home.

You and that puppy are meant for each other...I love him already. But please take the doo-rag OFF.

I sleep...on Sundays - I shut everything out and I go for broke in the sleep department.

When I notice that I am increasingly short on sleep, I cut out any time-consuming activity that I don't deem necessary.

Awwww, I want a puppy so bad. I gotta say, in answer to your On Blast question. I know what it is like to get less the 5 hours to sleep per night (or per day, since I work nights). I spend my Tuesdays, mostly, sleeping the dang gone day away.
