Morning Edition - 3/9/06

Deep Shit
Luis Gutierrez, 27, and his 8-year old son, Luis Armando Gutierrez were found dead in a 10-foot pond of manure after the younger Gutierrez fell in and was sucked-in by the poo. When the dad attempted to save the youngster, he slipped in and also drowned in the waste. His family called the dairy farm where Gutierrez worked and had taken his son the fateful evening of their deaths to report the pair had not returned home. Autopsies have not been performed as yet, but Grangeville, California authorities do not suspect foul play.

Warning to Latino Lovers
Latinos now make-up 20% of all Americans infected with HIV. Presently there are 76,052 Latino Americans living with HIV in the U.S. AIDS is now considered the third leading cause of death in Hispanic men 35-44 years old and the fourth leading cause of death for Latino women in the same age group. The only other group presently showing a higher infection rate is African Americans who lead all races with 76% of all new infections. Only 61% of Hispanics given a positive HIV result since 1994 are still living today. So my fellow Latino Lovers – wrap it up, get tested and get treated. Be passionate about loving and intelligent about living.

Curious Facts About Your Monthly Friend
It is estimated that women begin menstruating at about 12 years of age and continue to menstruate until about age 50. With menstruation lasting approximately 5 days out of every 28 days, stringing these days together would add-up to virtually seven continuous years of bleeding. What many don’t know is that without exposure to man-made light women’s menstrual cycle will synchronize with the moon. That is, a woman will begin menstruating at every full moon. Even stranger, it was found that when placed together, females exposed to the sweat scent of surrounding women, will begin menstruating simultaneously within three months time. Some women will experience a sweet onion smell to their breath during menstruation known as menses breath. What is more common knowledge is that during menstruation women are more prone to acne and herpes – some even report experiencing a higher incidence of vaginal infections.

On Blast
What’s fair? If a man clearly tells his partner that he does not want children and takes precautions during sex to prevent the pregnancy of his partner, should he be responsible for any children conceived through deception or foul-ups? Is it reasonable to allow women to have full control on whether they want to have an abortion, place a child up for adoption or raise their children? Should laws be adjusted to absolve men of all responsibility if said man can prove that he explicitly asked his partner not to have his child?

Keep passin’ the open windows…

Great Question....Hummmm?
If the man states that we does NOT want kids and the woman states that she also doesn't want them, Hopefully, they won't appear. If a woman has a desire to have kids and the male doesn't, the man should ensure that he is protected. If a child is conceived and the woman desires to keep a part of this man, the can have it on her own. I don't feel that anyone has a right to tell a woman what she can or can not do with her body, but she can't also force me to be a father to a child when she knew that I didn't want any.

If a child is to be given up, I think that the paternal father should be given first rights to having the child has his own, since she doesn't want it.

In my younger days I slept with a woman who was a bit older than I and had 2 teen boys and her tubs tied. She voiced her desire to have a child by me, needless to say since we where NOT using protection. I opted for "We can't have sex anymore because I can no longer trust you" She was furious when I told her why we had not had sex. End of conversation.....

I’m going to be pretty straightforward with this one…
If you’re a woman who wants children and your man doesn’t – drop him. Worse than having a dead-beat dad, is having a dead-beat dad that can’t stand the sight of the child. There are so many other options available to women who want children – artificial insemination being one of them. Although the issue of a woman’s body is a woman’s body and the decision to keep or abort a child should be hers is foremost in many people’s mind, I think women sometimes abuse this right. I think (as a man) if I tell you I don’t want any children and you decide to carry my child to full-term, than you can handle it on your own. Sort-of my idea of the your body, you kid, your problem theory.

To the men – contrary to unfounded fears and myths, vasectomy is the best option to guarantee you will not impregnate anyone – PERIOD. Whether the woman is a liar, extra-fertile, whatever… if you have a vasectomy and she ends up pregnant – it’s not yours! For the record, no side effects –including impotence, etc. are reported with this minor procedure and you still ejaculate, so don’t believe the hype.

I am not so sure of all these sperm banks folks.

Before we know it there will be all these half brothers and half sisters running around having sex...and far worse....babies with each other!

I dread the thought!

I guess if it were my sons I would tell them if they didn't want babies they would have to protect themselves. Don't come crying to me about that no good trifling bitch if you busted off in her and she went and had herself a meal ticket, I mean baby. I would also encourage my sons to take full custody of the child and fight for the child if the woman was having the baby to hold onto him. Believe it or not, the courts do award children to fathers. If you don't want the baby, don't bust the nut. PERIOD.

There are some men who have no feeling in them and can turn their backs on their own flesh and blood, but rather than feel pity or disgust for them, I would rather God get at them. Anything a woman could do on earth is only temporary. Eternity is just that.

Fact: if a man is married to a woman, any offspring concieved in that marriage is legally his, whether he wanted it or not.
Fact: if his wife becomes pregnant against his express wishes, after he has followed reasonable means not to impregnate her, and if he can prove deception, he has grounds at best for revocation of his marriage or at least he can legally have his parental rights terminated. thats the legal side of things.
Ladies if your man does not want children, leave him and find a man who does want children, DO NOT DECIEVE HIM. It is WRONG. It is especially bad for the child who is dispised and sometimes viewed by that parent with hatred. And i have to state for the record that a man who doen not want children IS NOT a dead beat dad, he simple does not care to have children of his own. TRUST, COMMUNICATION AND MUTUAL RESPECT IS WHAT HOLDS A RELATIONSHIP TOGETHER. If you can't respect your partner's wishes, and you are willing to betray or other wise overlook such an important issue for him, them you have already betrayed his Trust. I HAVE NO CHILDREN, BUT I WAS RAISED IN A HOUSE WITH 4 OTHER SIBLINGS. THE ONE THING WE KNEW WAS THAT WE WERE ALL WANTED AND PLANNED FOR (EXACTLY 18 MONTHS APART). I BELIEVE THAT CHILDREN ARE THE SUM OF THEIR PARENTS AND WHEN YOU PLAN THEM-- ITS ABOUT THEM; RAISING THEM; NURTURING THEM; LOVING THEM;TRAINING THEM; WANTING THEM; PASSING ON YOUR LEGACY TO THEM; IT AIN'T ABOUT HAVING A BABY TO CHIME YOUR BIOLOGICAL CLOCK; IT AIN'T ABOUT PROVING YOUR MANHOOD EITHER.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IF YOU WANT CHILDREN FOR THE RIGHT REASONS FIND A PARTNER WHO SHARES THE SAME FEELINGS ABOUT CHILDREN. I AM SORRY IF I SEEM PREACHY FOLKS, BUT I WORK OF A STATE AGENCY THAT TERMINATES PARENTAL RIGHTS EVERYDAY AND TWICE ON MONDAYS. IT IS A HORRIBLE THING TO HAVE TO DO, BUT UPON EVALUATION, THESE CHILDREN ARE MOST OFTEN UNWANTED, UNPLANNED OR WANTED FOR PURELY SELFISH AND DEVIOUS REASONS.
