Afternoon Edition - 8/10/05

You Play; You Pay
They only know his last name, but the details of how he came to suffer a fatal heart attack are clear – internet games! A 28-year old South Korean man died after spending 49 hours playing Starcraft – an internet video game. Doctors say the man suffered a heart attack and died shortly after. While at the café he ate minimally and barely slept. Police also allege the man had been fired for missing work to play video games.

Not A Gold Digger
Eight men are being sought in connection with the biggest bank robbery in Brazil’s history - $65 million dollars. The crime took some planning; three months of planning to be exact. The men dug a hole 13 feet below the vault floor and crawled through with only 28 inches between the floor and ceiling of the hole. They are still on the loose.

On Blast
Today’s On Blast question is simple… Is the old Luther default-lover theory of “If you can’t be with the one you love, then love the one you’re with,” true? Is it good advice to tell folks to be with someone because they’re good for them, even if there are no genuine feelings there? Which brings up a more serious issue; can you be with someone in the hopes of falling in love with them because you believe they are good to you and good for you? Tell of any experiences you've had that support your theory.

Keep passin’ the open windows…

What a waste of time to be with a person you truly are not in love with. I would not just date someone just to have a man on my arm or in my bed for any period of time if I am not in love with him. If he didn't knock you off your feet when you first set eyes on him (There goes that Lust, not Love at first sight) then why even bother staying with someone that doesn't move you spiritually, mentally and sexually. Lord have mercy! Girls, please don't be with someone just because it's lonely or you're not with the one you love. Wait for your true love and cherish your singleness!

I think you should experience as much as possible within the law in this lifetime. That doesn't mean you should lay down with everyone who gets your attention, but get to know people - not everyone can cause fireworks, but everyone can contribute to your experience here on earth. Don't allow yourself to be used or abused though. You lose yourself when someone takes away your dignity.

IS IT ONLY ME OR DO OTHER PEOPLE ASK THE QUESTION WHAT DOES LOVE HAVE TO DO WITH IT. THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO CAUSE SEXUAL/CHEMICAL FIREWORKS IN YOUR LIFE AND HEART, BUT THAT DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN THAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE GOOD CHOICES FOR RELATIONSHIPS. THEN THERE ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO YOU CONNECT WITH; HAVE EASY COMMUNICATION AND ENJOY BEING WITH. SOMETIMES WE GET LUCKY AND WE FIND BOTH ELEMENTS IN ONE PERSON, BUT IDEALLY I BELIEVE SHOULD GO FOR THE PERSON WHO IS MORE RELATIONSHIP MATTERIAL. HOWEVER IN THE REAL WORLD WE (MYSELF INCLUDED) ALWAYS HOLD OUT FOR THE FIREWORKS AND THE CINDERELLA THING THAT USUALLY IS FLEETING AT BEST UNTIL YOU GET ACCUMSTOMED TO THE GLARE.
