Hurricane Really A Warm Breeze
Eric Benet has never really hit it big with any of his recordings. Whether he was remaking Georgy Porgy or simply trying to woo us with a ballad sung from behind his once sexy locks, the crooner never really caught on. His new endeavor, Hurricane, is a different story. Maybe his, now defunct, relationship with the shockingly beautiful Halle Berry gave him some ideas on how to really lay a soft love song on or the time in therapy for sex addiction taught him a little something about how to say things, but Benet is oozing love, acceptance, growth and sex appeal on this new release. Admittedly I’m undergoing a sentimental time in my life, but the CD made me smile, tear-up and sigh from start to finish. Need some direction on where to go when you first pop-in this gem – head straight for song 9, The Last Time – the lyrics are beautiful and touching in their simplicity. Song 14, Still With You, will keep you jogging your thoughts – mine got a Charlie horse – go figure. This isn’t a CD that will blow you away with resounding vocals, but Benet’s ability to convey a sense of renewal and a calming breeze into maturity will make it a fast favorite in your shuffle rankings.

On Blast
Pick a question from our two question On Blast session today and let us have it. You know sharing is caring…

First J’Moo asks: What should you do when you have just made a big life move and you run into your ex, who you have never really ex-ed? J’Moo did not clarify question, so answer question based on its current structure.

Second Caspar asks: What’s up with all these tip cups every where you turn? You go to Starbucks, get raped for a caramel macchiato and they want a tip from you? Now they are popping up in grocery stores as well. Somebody holla back at a gal. Whatever happened to working with some dignity man? There is absolutely nothing wrong with humble beginnings...

Keep passin’ the open windows…

IN RESPONSE TO QUESTION (1). I BELIEVE ONE SHOULD (ABSOLUTELY) END ONE RELATIONSHIP BEFORE EMBARKING ON ANOTHER. YOU HAVEN'T REALLY MAKE A BIG LIFE MOVE IF YOU ARE STILL CARRYING AROUND UNFINISHED BUSINESS. ITS HORRIBLE TO FIND OUT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN DUMPED ONLY WHEN YOU ARE CONFRONTED WITH YOUR REPLACEMENT. THAT IS SOOOO WRONG. CONVERSELY, IF I WERE THE NEW GUY, I'D HAVE TO WONDER WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO THE SAME THING TO ME. CLARITY...COMMUNICATION....CONSIDERATION ARE SOME OF THE THINGS LACKING IN THAT 'BIG LIFE MOVE"..

what about the tips man?

Caspar the answer is simple:
If it is a service industry that has a pay differential that is affected by tips, I tip. That means wait staff, who have their salaries reduced because of expected tips, should be tipped. If you perform a duty that is outside your required service (especially if it's something that I can do for myself) I tip - for example, the gas attendant that cleans your windshield, checks your fluids and fills your tank.
Now, folks like Starbucks that get a full salary and charge me $5. for a cup of coffee, don't get a tip for walking that coffee from the coffeemaker to the counter. That's part of the service. Same goes for other food service places.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH COCOA AS FAR AS THE TIPS GO......A TIP IS A GRATUITY NOT AN ENTITLEMENT. SOME SERVICE PERSONNEL DO DESERVE OUR GENEROSITY.....AND IN THOSE INSTANCES I TIP. SIDEBAR: DAMN COCOA I'D CHECK YOUR FLUIDS AND FILL YOUR TANK FOR FREE...LOL
